The Doors in My Life (Rented)

Posted on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in Europe, General

If you want to see me, you must pass through 4 doors currently. Or I have to open 4 doors to get to where I can be me and free, in my flat in Berlin: 1 room living. Old apartment houses (4 stories) in Berlin always have a front building and at least 2 side wings attached in the back. The front flats were a bit more posh, with a balcony, and the back ones cheaper because darker and damper. You reach the back wings through a court yard. So just for the fun of it, I thought I show you the not so pretty doors in my daily life, perhaps their drabness accounts for my joy when seeing “real doors”. What do you think, darlings?!

The Street door of my multiple apartment house in Charlottenburg in Berlin

Door No 1 to enter my apartment house

Door number 2 I must pass through to get to my ground floor flat

Door number 2 is always open except during snow storms

Door Nr 3 I must pass, right sight going up, left side into basement dungeon

Door Nr 3 leads to right wing, with right door to the flats, leftdoor into basement dungeon

Door No 4 is, alas, the entry to my rented flat, 1 room, kitchen, bath

Door No 4 is, alas, the entry to my rented flat, 1 room, kitchen, bath.Do you like the color scheme? :-)

Door Nr 5 is to the private sphere of yours truly where I work and sleep

Door Nr 5 is inside my chambers where yours truly works and sleeps, this door too is always open
