I was wondering if anybody here

has ever gone “from door to door” ?

has tried to “get his foot in the door” ?

has “left a back door open” for himself ?

has married “the girl next door” ?

has “knocked on heaven´s door” even ?

has “shown the door ” to someone not much liked?

truly believes in an “open door policy” ?

or ever “closed a door behind himself” ?

and conducted serious business “behind closed doors” ?

suffered from “TORSCHLUSSPANIK” ? ( a great German word for the fear of all doors being closed… ie. never finding a partner again in life )

Well, let me know what your experiences have been with the good old door. Perhaps you slammed it into someone face, or gladly open it for Christmas carol singers, but cringe about the door salesman? Or do you even have a secret code to enter your own door? Locked yourself out leaving the keys inside? Been broken into? Used your credit card to get that door to open (only possible with American doors, by the way) ? Hung a sign on the door “Do not disturb” ? Peeked through that hole before you opened the door?
